John Rainey is the founder and director of Goalline Ministries. 
Before starting Goalline, Rainey served as the Minister of Youth and Activities at the First Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. He was also Minister of Youth at the First Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi. In addition, Rainey has been involved in student ministry at Thomas University for the past ten years.
John Rainey attended Brewer Parker College in 1972 and graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1975. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Religious Education.
Rainey is married to Carolyn, who joins him in this ministry.
